Many years ago I was getting tired of the eye problems. The dancing colors would not leave me alone. I spoke to a priest. "paint them", he said, "Make designs, pictures from them." - George Mendoza

A lot of my paintings are based on dreams that I have had. So I might have limited eyesight, but the visions or mental pictures that I see seem to be limitless. I've pursued not the perfect sunset, not the perfect yucca or autumn tree in New England. I pursue what I see. - George Mendoza
